Things I've learned: The first week

The other man in my life. Blue in a box.

Actually it's been one week and two nights of living together, and although I'm so happy that it's finally happened, I'm not going to say it's been easy. I mean I can say it's been easy, but I'm not going to say I mean it.

Here are five things I've learned about living with my boyfriend:

1. It's not like sharing a space with a roommate, it's actually more like sharing a life - and having your own life too - but that's still very different than sharing a space and not a life.

2. I am a small detail freak. I'm noticing the smallest, most unimportant things like a tiny dent on the bottom of a dresser or a piece of dust on the floor. And while it's nothing important, I like to make a big deal out of nothing.

3. It's nice to know that you're going to see somebody you love a lot, especially a lot more than you used to, and that you don't have to plan every moment of your being together (see, that's the nice and easy part).

4. However, it's just as easy to become your mother, father or any other member of your family that helped raise you, as soon as you get into habit of living with a lover. Of course, this is an example of old habits being hard to break.

5. Still the best thing about it, well, there are lots of best things, but one thing I really do like is that when I come home at night, it feels like I'm finally home.
